Facebook Ads updates you may have missed in Q3 2021

Are you looking to improve your Facebook ads campaigns? Did you miss what happened in the third quarter of 2021 with Facebook ads? Would you like to get some fresh insights from a trusted Facebook ads expert into what to expect in the next few months? Then, this article can help.

Our Facebook adverts gurus have analyzed the latest quarter of 2021 and rounded up the most exciting and popular trends and opportunities. Read on for a lowdown of what was hot in the Facebook ads world in Q3 of this year and a sneak peek of what’s coming next.

Instagram ads are available on Facebook

It is excellent news: the Facebook ad system is now able to run Instagram ads. The announcement comes after Facebook had already started to roll out more ads on Instagram, such as the recent addition of the Explore section.

There is a difference, though, between Explore and the new Instagram’s shop tab on Facebook. If you opt for the Instagram feature, your ad will be immediately placed in a more valuable location, which enables users actively looking for YOUR products or services to find your ads much more quickly and easily.

It has the potential to boost your brand awareness and, of course, skyrocket your sales by turning more leads into conversions.

New features on Facebook Messenger

Another significant update that we saw in Q3 of this year was about Facebook Messenger. The platform has launched some cool new features that enable businesses to deliver full-funnel service to their customers.

It means in practice that, regardless of where a user is in their buyer’s journey, brands will be able to capture their attention at the right time and in the right way by taking advantage of the new Facebook Messenger features.

Now, let’s look at what these features are in more detail:

  • The possibility for advertisers to select “All Messaging Platforms” to establish how users can contact them after they have clicked on one of their ads. The update means that Facebook instantly launches the chat option of the ad, based on where that specific user is more likely to engage in a conversation
  • On Instagram, businesses, influencers, and creators will now have the possibility to include a click-to-chat button that takes them from their Instagram page directly to their WhatsApp account, making conversations (and purchases) much faster and more seamless.
  • If one of your customers is interested in getting a quote from your brand through Facebook Messenger, they can now do that by clicking on the “Quote Request” button. Currently in testing mode, this new feature will allow you to choose a maximum of five questions that you might want to ask your customers before beginning an interaction with them, so that you can provide them with the most customized and accurate quote right away.
  • Instagram has announced a range of new paid and organic additions that are currently (or soon) being tested, and that aim to help businesses find more quality leads on the platform. However, nothing is set in stone yet, so we don’t have any further information on this specific update. Keep your eyes peeled for our next release of Facebook ads updates!

Just landed: Facebook Reels

Already super-popular on Instagram and TikTok, reels are finally coming to Facebook, too – at least, for users in the US.

The roll-out was announced by Facebook back in August. Reels are possibly going to help the social network boost its – currently dropping – organic reach by engaging users with a tool that they have come to know (and love) on other successful platforms.

Inspiration at your fingertips: Facebook Campaigns

Sometimes, you need a bit of a creative nudge when it comes to putting together your next advertising campaign on Facebook or Instagram. If that’s the case, you will be happy to hear that one of the latest features that Facebook added in Q3 was the new “Campaign Ideas Generator”.

The tool does what it says on the tin: it provides brands and strategists with inspiration and other exciting and helpful advertising resources and assets that are designed with the needs of small businesses in mind.

This feature is also straightforward to use. You need to select your business type, and the tool will instantly offer you ideas, insights, and advice on how to create a successful advertising campaign.

The cherry on top? Campaign Ideas Generator is entirely free to use.

In the works: Facebook work accounts

According to Facebook developers, the platform is in the process of testing a new feature known as “work accounts.” As the name suggests, these will be business-focused accounts available on Facebook and aimed at helping social media managers access the Business Manager account separately from their private account, with single sign-on.

We expect to hear more about this early next year, but we know that some small businesses are currently testing this new feature. Watch this space for more updates!
